I agree that before 8pm its a nice pub but I think it's the post 8pm clients that are my issue.  The land lady has increased the number of customers and good on her for making the effort(Although the way the pub was before it wasn't hard to improve upon) but I think she has sacrificed the feel of a potentially great village pub for the lure of quick ££'s.  I know that some weekend regulars start their evening in the Shoes and then reluctantly have to go over to the Star when the 'colourful' customers arrive - a lot of whom are not local residents.

I frequent both pubs.

The Keys is much improved over the last year. It's got a lot of new faces and a few of the old regulars back.

The men's toilet STILL needs sorting out as there has been a plumbing problem in there for years but apart from that I like the place.

The only complaints I hear are about the toilets and not enough bubbles in the lager

i think we should bring this thread to an end.

i no longer consider the title reflects what is being discussed really?

this thread has been read over 300+ times and nobody has really shown that the shoes is lowering the standard of the village have they?

if anyone wants to say something further can they please start a new thread.
