About 35 years ago, I had need to go to the Council Offices in Barry s I had found out that they were going to Compulsory Purchase about 9 feet of my front Garden and about 6 feet of my Neighbours (who just happened to be a Barrister) This was, so they could widen Sunnycroft lane with a view of making a through Road to the Sunnycroft Estate. Needless to say, we managed to stop that. During my visit to the Offices I casually asked to see the Plans of the proposed Dinas Powys Bypass and they showed them to me. I was able to warn Alan Todd and Della Guy, who both lived on Cross Common Road, that the Bypass was going to go right through their Properties and eventually come out ny Green Lane.
